We had a great Memorial Day weekend - the perfect mix of work and play. Jon and I spent as much time outside as possible. As many of you know, our landscaping (or lack thereof) has made us feel like we live in the jungle. There's too much of everything and it's all overgrown. So, we spent much of our weekend working in the yard. We didn't have the boys and my parents were kind enough to keep Mazzie for a few hours on Saturday which allowed us plenty of time to work, work, work. Fifty bags of mulch and hours of labor later, the side yard is finally free of weeds (for now). Next week, we're having someone come and totally clear out the front yard and I can't wait to see the results (and for someone else to do the hard work!).
Like I said, we did get to have some fun, too. The Hardy's were in town from Ohio, so we hosted a small BBQ. Kevin, Jon, and Mark worked together at Iowa Health and have remained good friends. The kids all had a great time running around, enjoying the wonderful weather. We got out the bags and yard darts, two of our favorite games and a guaranteed good time. Yet another weekend of quality Ferchen Family Fun~
