Easter Weekend

Our Easter weekend was full of the usual family traditions.  We started with our church Easter Egg Hunt.  Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate (again!), so we had to hunt inside.  The church did a great job of splitting up the kids, so Mazzie was in a room with other kids close to her age.  There were also more than enough eggs, so she didn't have to fight off the others in order to fill her basket.  I wasn't sure what she'd think of the hunt.  As far as I knew, she'd never played with any eggs and she's too young to care much for candy (okay, I take that back...the girl LOVES candy, but she doesn't really know to expect it in eggs).

Mazzie had a blast! She got the hang of the hunt quite quickly and set about to collect as many eggs as possible.  She walked around (wearing her bunny ears and dragging her basket) the room forever!  She'd stop, pick up an egg, give it a little shake, and then gently place it in her basket.  Every once in a while she'd stop and play with the eggs for a minute.   She had a great time playing with her cousins, Easton and Landree.  By the end of the hunt, the three of them were walking around the church like they owned the place!

The hunt on Saturday was a perfect practice run for our home hunt.  Now that Mazzie knew what to expect, she was a maniac!  The bunny 'hid' a bunch of eggs in the living room and Mazzie absolutely loved gathering them.  She also found her basket and proceeded to carry it around the house for the rest of the morning.  I'd say the bunny outdid himself.  In her basket, Mazzie had some crayons and a coloring book, a few new sippy cups, and my personal favorite, a new pair of Toms.  Cutest. Shoes. Ever!
I bought Mazzie's dress in January (I couldn't help myself!!) and had the bow made by a great online boutique.  It might be a little much, but Easter only comes once a year, right?

oops!  the hair bow got the best of Mazzie!

For the last few years, our family has enjoyed a delicious Easter lunch and hunt.  The Hollingsworths all gathered at my parents' house for brisket (thanks, Scott!) and ham and all of our other favorites.  After a delicious lunch, the kids headed outside for another Easter Egg Hunt.  We missed having Kade and Alec with us, but Landree, Easton, and Mazzie did their best to make the most of our Easter traditions.
